Eccentric exercises for the shoulder are exercises that lengthen the muscles around the shoulder joint under tension creating an adaptation that improves; range of motion, mobility, strength, while decreasing discomfort/pain. How to perform the exercise: 1. Sit in a chair with feet flat on the floor, facing away with the pulley that has been securely assembled in a door frame. 2. With hands lightly holding pulley handles, raise affected arm overhead with the assistance of the other arm (or push outward during lift) to feel a stretch. 3. Avoid hiking shoulder, they should be relaxed and down. 4. Then slowly lower affected arm for 3-5 seconds. ***At no time should this cause any strain on the neck, back or shoulders.
